They also mean we consistently rank among the best in the nation for patient safety, imaging services, stroke care, bariatric surgery and oncology. But most of all, it means people throughout North Texas and beyond can trust in us for quality healthcare.
Joint Commission Hospital & Lab Accreditation
The Joint Commission is the largest and oldest independent healthcare evaluation body, accrediting hospitals for more than 60 years. Wise Health System has been continuously accredited through The Joint Commission since 1982.
MRI Accredited Program
Our accreditation guarantees our entire MRI program has met the stringent standards set forth by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR evaluates personnel qualifications, MRI image quality, safety policies, and quality control. In addition to evaluating process and personnel, each diagnostic clinical imaging unit used for patients must successfully pass tests to achieve accreditation.
Ultrasound Accredited Program
Wise Health System has met the strict requirements for accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR). To receive accreditation, clinical images are acquired, relevant physician reports and corresponding clinical images submitted, and quality control documentation are evaluated in all categories of ultrasound services provided.
CT Accredited Program
Wise Health System’s computed tomography program earned accreditation by meeting the high standards of the American College of Radiology Accreditation, including evaluation of staff, acquired clinical and phantom images, dose measurements and scanning protocols.
Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI
As an Accredited Chest Pain Center from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), we strive for better care, prognosis, quality of life, treatment, and communication for patients. The accreditation signifies a higher level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack, an emphasis on standardized diagnostic and treatment programs to provide more efficient evaluations, and an emphasis on more appropriate and rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.
American College of Cardiology – Quality Improvement for Institutions
Wise Health System has demonstrated its commitment to quality improvement by voluntarily releasing data on how many heart disease patients received the correct medication at discharge following a procedure to clear blocked arteries. Through the American College of Cardiology’s Public Reporting program, patients will be able to compare Wise Health System’s medication discharge performance to other local hospitals, allowing them to make more informed decisions about their care.
Primary Stroke Center Certification
The Joint Commission, American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognizes Wise Health System as a Primary Stroke Center through our efforts to cultivate better outcomes for stroke care. This designation indicates Wise Health System has demonstrated consistent, excellent and advanced care of stroke patients.
Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Accreditation & Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP)
The MBSAQIP accreditation from the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery recognizes the East Campus of Wise Health System has undergone an independent, voluntary, and peer evaluation in accordance with nationally recognized bariatric surgical standards. The accreditation promotes standardized benchmarks and continuous quality improvement that lead to better care for our patients.
Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery
Wise Health System meets the Blue Distinction standards of the BlueCross BlueShield Association. The Blue Distinction Center designation signifies that Wise Health System is a facility that demonstrates fewer medical complications, fewer readmissions, higher survival rates and expertise in delivery of quality healthcare.
Commission on Cancer Accredited Program
Accreditation through the Commission on Cancer means our clinical services provide exceptional pretreatment evaluation, staging, treatment, and follow-up for cancer patients seen in our facility at all stages of care. Accreditation is achieved through meeting strict program requirements for our facility, diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, systemic therapy services, rehabilitation services and many other aspects of our program.
Optum Center of Excellence
Wise Health System is designated as a Center of Excellence from Optum for continuing to provide excellence in fertility care.
Our Recent Awards
Being honored for excellent patient care is the best recognition a hospital can receive. Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines. Wise Health System received the 2016 Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award for reaching an aggressive goal of treating heart failure or stroke patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 12 consecutive months.
2014 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
Wise Health System is a recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades, a leading resource that helps consumers search, evaluate, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals. To be eligible for this award, Healthgrades evaluated 3,582 hospitals which submit patient surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, covering admissions from March 2012 – April 2013. Hospitals had to meet survey response size and clinical quality thresholds in order to be eligible for the award.
2014 Consumer Reports List for Patient Safety
Wise Health System had top scores among North Texas hospitals in a 2014 Consumer Reports study on hospital safety. The annual Consumer Reports list of hospital rankings uses federal data to grade 2,591 U.S. hospitals on their patient care, overall safety and capacity to save lives. It includes measures of Patient Outcomes, Patient Experience, and Hospital Practices.
2012 Top Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility
Wise Health System’s Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit was ranked in the top 6 percent of inpatient rehabilitation facilities by a 2012 study from the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR). The UDSMR recognizes programs that efficiently and effectively help patients regain function and return to the community.
2012 Texas Healthcare Quality Improvement Award
Wise Health System is a recipient of the 2012 Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award. Established in 2004, this award recognizes hospitals that have made quality initiatives to improve patient care outcomes and performance on specific national quality measures.
2012 Silver Performance Achievement Award
The ACTION Registry®–GWTG™ Silver Performance Achievement Award recognizes participating hospitals that have maintained a rate of performance of 90% or better for four consecutive quarters, ending quarter four 2012 and is tangible evidence of our hospital’s hard work and commitment to quality improvement.
