Wise Health System has a team of nurses that meet quarterly to take blood pressures for the community and teach about hypertension. For further information, contact the Education Department.
Giving blood saves the lives of patients right here in our Wise County community as well as providing a significant blood product supply to our servicemen overseas and assisting in national disasters.

The Mary’s Gift Program at Wise Health System provides free screening and diagnostic mammograms to low-income, uninsured or under-insured women in Wise County.
Community Health Fairs
As part of our community outreach efforts, Wise Health System hosts and participates in numerous community health fairs. Many topics that concern today’s families are presented by Wise Health System employees and physicians including stroke prevention, heart disease and healthy heart living, men’s and women’s health issues, childhood health and safety, and many more.
Heart Health Expo
The annual Heart Health Expo provides free screenings, information booths, and presentations on how to keep your heart healthy. Multiple booths offer valuable information about heart-related topics, while medical experts were available on-hand to answer questions and demonstrate heart-healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Hooty the Healthwise Owl
Hooty the Healthwise Owl serves as the hospital’s ambassador to model healthy behaviors and teaches kids important health and safety information. You’ll find Hooty visiting local area schools, health fairs, and other community events in Wise County.
Wise Gives is an annual event that gives back services and goods to the community during the holidays. The event is free to the public and offers household items, grocery items, and wellness exams.
