The American Kidney Fund tripled a $10,000 monetary donation from the Wise Health Foundation during National Kidney Month in March providing much needed funds to the Wise Health System Dialysis Clinic.
“This donation will benefit current dialysis patients directly, helping them continue to receive treatment regardless of insurance premiums, lack of insurance, car repairs, gas cost, etc.,” said Amy Young, Dialysis Clinic Director. “Patients often voice concerns about financial troubles regarding dialysis treatment. Once I hear their concern, I fill out a grant requesting assistance from The American Kidney Fund for the patient and their needs are taken care of.”
“This has been a huge blessing to our patients,” said Young. In 2022, the Wise Health System Dialysis Clinic requested $17,000 worth of assistance from The American Kidney Fund.”
Lori Sherwood, Director for Wise Health Foundation said, “The mission and vision of Wise Health Foundation is to improve healthcare in our community. We have partnered with the Wise Health System Dialysis Clinic to help improve healthcare for their patients. If we can help accomplish this with our donation, then we are successful!”
