Background
Dr. Arsalla Islam, MD, FASMBS, is a board certified vascular, endovascular and bariatric surgeon. She has joined the My Bariatric Solutions team as a bariatric surgeon and is one of the only vascular surgeons in the Alliance medical community. Prior to joining the My Bariatric Solutions team and opening her practice, she was at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. There she completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery. Dr. Islam received her medical degree in 1996 from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan followed by a residency in surgery and fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric procedures, both at UT Southwestern.
Prior to Wake Forest, Dr. Islam was an Assistant Professor and Director of Bariatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Assistant Program Director for the Laparoscopic and Bariatric fellowship program. Dr. Islam’s wide range of surgical expertise includes treatment for morbid obesity, gall bladder disease, hernias, laparoscopic splenectomy, carotid surgery, endovascular and open surgical treatment for upper extremity, abdominal, and lower extremity vessels and arteriovenous fistula creation for dialysis.
