Background
Dr. Mustafa brings a multi-national experience to our region through his training in India, Ireland, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Texas, in addition to his 7 years work experience in Florida. He joined the medical staff at Wise Health System from his most recent position as a fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Division of Rheumatic Diseases in Dallas. Dr. Mustafa received his medical degree in 1996 from the Patna (Prince of Wales) Medical College & Hospital in India.
He spent over 2 years training in Ireland before coming to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, from where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He then worked as a hospitalist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2010-2011 he participated in a prestigious Lupus Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Michelle Petri, at Johns Hopkins University – School of Medicine in Baltimore.
As a specialist in rheumatology, Dr. Mustafa treats different autoimmune diseases including the more common conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, myositis, gout, pseudogout, osteoarthritis and vasculitis, to name a few.
