Background
Dr. Dwyer is a native Texan who was raised near Fort Worth and completed all of her training in the Lone Star state. She pursued her undergraduate degree at Texas State University where she majored in Biology and graduated magna cum laude. She attended medical school at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, during which she earned the distinct honor of induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated at the top of her class with honors. Upon graduating, she was presented the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement, an award given to women who graduate in the top 10% of their medical school class. She then stayed to complete her residency training in Ophthalmology at Baylor-Scott & White hospital in Temple, TX. During her residency, she was selected for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an organization that recognizes physicians who are dedicated to ethical and compassionate patient care. Dr. Dwyer is skilled in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, including (but not limited to) cataract surgery, certain laser eye surgeries, and diagnosis and management of a variety of medical eye conditions. She is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
