Medical Practices
Background
Dr Hashmi MD, FACC is fellowship trained and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear cardiology and Internal Medicine. He is able to care for the full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases–treating patients with heart attacks, coronary artery disease, heart failure, stroke, hypertension, cholesterol disorders, arrythmias, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral arterial disease and amputation prevention and more.
Dr. Hashmi grew up in Buffalo, New York and received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from SUNY Buffalo and Doctorate of Medicine from the AUC school of medicine. He completed his medical training at St John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit Michigan, rated among the 50 best teaching hospitals in the US. Upon concluding his internal medicine certification, and attaining the universal respect of his colleagues, he was selected Chief Medical Resident where he excelled in training residents and teaching medical students. After a rigorous process he matriculated into the cardiology fellowship where in his third and final year he was appointed Chief Cardiology Fellow. Wanting to pursue further training, and his dreams of obtaining the procedural skills required to acutely safe a life and a limb, Dr Hashmi was selected into the acclaimed interventional cardiology fellowship program which offered the advanced coronary and peripheral vascular training he desired. During his ten years in Detroit, he had the unique experience of training under many distinguished leaders in the field of medicine where he was involved in leadership, education and research. His research studies were published and he presented nationally.
After his training, Dr Hashmi moved to central Florida to begin his professional career. For the past seven years, he spent time in private practice in the Villages and Leesburg, and then with the Adventhealth East Orlando Hospital where he started the hospital based cardiovascular practice and cardiac interventional and STEMI program performing the hospital’s first ever stent procedure.
Dr Hashmi relocated to the DFW area to be closer to his family and now serves as the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Wise Health System. Dr. Hashmi believes in a comprehensive and team-oriented approach to taking care of patients. His care philosophy aims to include not only the patient but their family, with a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining the physician-patient relationship—something he feels has been fading in modern medicine. Dr. Hashmi is fully dedicated to the care of the North Texas community. His mission is to ensure every patient is treated in an ethical manner with dignity and respect. Outside of work, you can find Dr. Hashmi and his family enjoying the beautiful city of Dallas. He enjoys traveling, exercising, nature, and is a life long Buffalo Bills fan.
