Our hospitalist program is specifically designed to give patients personalized attention during their hospitalization.
What is a Hospitalist?
A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in hospital medicine, a specialty that provides comprehensive medical care to patients who have been hospitalized. Hospitalists act in the place of a patient’s primary care physician.
Hospitalists, as most other physicians, go through medical school and residency training. Most train in general internal medicine, family practice, general pediatrics or may receive training in other medical disciplines.
Benefits of a Hospitalist
Hospitalists, because they are on-site, are able to provide more timely and efficient care of patients who have been hospitalized, which means a shorter hospital stay for patients.
Hospitalists collaborate with other healthcare personnel charged with caring for hospitalized patients, including other physicians, to ensure the best possible care is provided to patients from hospitalization to discharge.
